We did some low passes and checked out some clouds and Lake Pleasant on the way back. Average altitude 1000′ AGL, with clouds at 3500′ AGL. Conditions: calm, 60F, 30% overcast. I want to start gardening but I am not so sure what is best for the climate here in Arizona.

I've never been to Arizona and would like some suggestions!

Flagstaff the mountains. A little cold in the winter, but beautiul in the spring and fall. Plus it's not that far of a drive to Phoenix, Sedona, The Grand Canyon, etc for a weekend getaway.
