funny how everyone says the cardinals have terrible fans… i’ve never seen fans of any other pro team rush the field after a big win.

  6. numberjuanchicano on February 26th, 2010 2:59 am

I was there! I rushed the field! True cardinal fan baby!!!!!!!!!

Boy, I was so happy that the cards beat the boys in the wildcard round haha.

As a long time Cardinals fan, this is a beautiful sight. I was there. The only game I’ve been to in Arizona. Seen plenty of Cards games on the East coast but this is the first one I was at in Arizona. I’m hoping to make it next season when the Eagles come to AZ.

I’ve never hugged so many strangers in my life.
Nice to see Pat Tillman there at :19

People running on the field…wow, you do not see that happening now.

  14. azdude81 on February 26th, 2010 7:55 am

Great game to be at! Cards fans were as crazy jubilant as I’d ever seen. I especially remember something said by either Lomas Brown or Simeon Rice about Chris Jacke, “This guy scares the hell out of me. He misses the ones he should make and makes the ones that matter most.” Not a great season by most people’s standards, but it broke new ground for the Cards, thank God.

excellent upload man thx!! cards been my team always even at sds burning up in 120 degree weather! nobody was there, now its sold out with bandwagoners now, thts why i dont go anymore, i hate bandwagoners!! go cards, get ur minds rite!

wow i miss those days, although i’m an Eagles fan and didnt see much playoff action from the birds throughout the mid-late 90s i still enjoyed the magic of the playoffs. I think football was bettre just back then. I miss the old CBS theme and i think the new cardinals jerseys r crap.

i loved when Tobin was our coach, we’ve always had great coaches and bad players… lol

  18. brabradabrat on February 26th, 2010 10:28 am

why when Cards get in the playoffs its always magical? a lot better than when other teams get into the playoff? I would rather wait 10 years to wait for Kurt and Larry and the rest of this amzing team too get in the playoffs than any other team? All the other teams are just plain boreing!

  19. NightHawk11and81 on February 26th, 2010 10:36 am

These were my Cardinals. This team made me proud. One of the three best moments in Cards history for me, the other two being the playoff win in Dallas the next week and Nate Poole’s catch against Minnesota.

sun devil stadium is a cool stadium

  21. bballbrenty on February 26th, 2010 11:43 am

I was 8 when i saw this on tv and i cried, cried with tears of joy. I was 8 but I still knew about the cards awful history as a franchise so I knew this game was special. and who says the cardinals have a shitty fan base? who says cardinals fans aren’t passionate about their team? I’ve never seen cowboy or steeler or giants fans or fans of any other pro football team rush the field after their team wins a big game!

  22. amzarate on February 26th, 2010 11:45 am

Thanks for the post!!! I’m 27 and watching this brought tears!! I sat in Sec 11 and ran on the field!! We should’ve thrown the goalpost over the Mill Ave. bridge like we did against the Cowgirls!! How many people remember that?!?!

  23. rishi62 on February 26th, 2010 12:00 pm

i was at this game. One of the best moments of my childhood. My dad has had season tickets since 93 when i was 5 and ivwe been to 7 home games a year ever since, Anyway it was awesoem to see the fans rush the field and tear down the goal posts afterwards

  24. ghettogadget206 on February 26th, 2010 12:12 pm

OMG i remember watching this game live back in 98.. i wanted the chargers to win so the bucs to get in the playoffs…. to bad, it sucked to see them do well, because the bucs were on a late season roll and wouldve made the championship game…

do you have the last 5 minutes or so of this game.. the play by play of don criqui was excellent.. and yes it does suck that he and enberg are covering shitty teams when they should still be doin playoff games instead of nantz and gumbel

  25. cbaldwinjr on February 26th, 2010 12:28 pm

It’s too bad that Don Criqui has been relegated to bottom of the barrel games while Jim Nantz and his awful football play-by-play gets lead coverage. Same for Gus Johnson. If ANYONE should be doing the lead game, it should be Dick Enberg…I can’t think of many AFC games that were classics without his signature “OH MYYYYYYYY!”
